Grumpy ConsCom Member Diatribe

Among other things, the First Amendment guarantees citizens have a God-given right to assemble, to speak and to petition the government. In a Letter to the Editor in the Public Spirit, Ms. Gugino rants about local citizens exercising their democratic right to petition without consulting the Conservation Commission.

Ironically we organized and petitioned the Town Meeting to raise money because ConsCom said they didn’t have any. Read it and look forward to a critique over the next couple days.

  1. A sportsman says:

Grumpy says “I support an ongoing weed management program for Ayer’s ponds, all of them, including Flannagan’s.” Correct me if I am wrong but it is my understanding the town planned on treating Sandy Pond and others this year while Flannagans was left out? If so why?

I predict the ConsCom will spin the wheels long enough to so that there is not enough time to have the pond treated this year. They can stall and get their way what they couldn’t get from the ballot box.
